How to use these together without fooling yourself
Use research tools to gather and organise evidence. Use a detector only when authorship is genuinely relevant. A low AI score is not a fact-check, and a high score is not proof that the material is wrong.
For student submissions, hiring or other consequential decisions, do not rely on an automated detection score alone. Consider drafts, sources and an opportunity for the person to explain their work.
Start small
Choose one question you actually need answered. Define the scope, the source quality you expect and what a useful answer would let you do next. That usually produces better research than simply asking for “deep research.”
